Disclosure Policy

Updated July 13, 2026

Current status, stated plainly: as of July 13, 2026, CommonKeel has two active relationships, disclosed below. Every other company mentioned on this site is covered with no paid relationship, and links to their sites are plain links.

Active relationships:

  • Google Workspace (referral). We participate in the Google Workspace Referral Program. If you start a paid Google Workspace plan through our referral link (currently on our record retention page), CommonKeel may earn a one-time referral fee at no extra cost to you, and eligible new customers can receive a first-year discount. We mention Google Workspace only as one example of an association-owned account for records continuity; the referral does not affect that guidance.
  • QuickBooks / Intuit (affiliate and referral). We participate in the Intuit Product Referrals Program. If you subscribe to QuickBooks Online through our link (currently on our QuickBooks Online for HOAs page), CommonKeel may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and eligible new customers may receive a discount. This does not change our assessment: that page states plainly that QuickBooks is not built for associations and is not our top recommendation for most boards, and we are not endorsed by Intuit.

What about everyone else?

Every other vendor and service provider we name, PayHOA, Buildium, Condo Control, reserve-study firms, and the rest, has no active paid relationship with us; those links are plain links. This site’s planned business model includes further affiliate, referral, and lead arrangements, and we’d rather tell you in advance. Each new relationship will be added to the list above and disclosed on every affected page before any monetized link goes live.

What happens when a paid relationship begins

  • This page updates first, naming the relationship and its type (affiliate, referral, lead fee, sponsorship).
  • Every affected page gets an on-page disclosure, placed above the fold of the first monetized element, not buried in a footer.
  • Monetized links get labeled attributes (rel="sponsored") so the relationship is visible even to machines.
  • Sponsored placements are labeled “Sponsored” and never mixed silently into editorial rankings.

What never changes

  • Rankings are never affected by compensation. Comparison scores come from a published weighted rubric applied to published facts; commercial arrangements are tracked separately from editorial scoring, and no payment can move a score, a rank, or a recommendation.
  • Prices and capabilities stay sourced. A commission doesn’t change what a vendor’s pricing page says, and our pages report only what sources support, per our editorial standards.
  • Free stays free. The templates and calculator remain ungated regardless of monetization elsewhere.

Things we won’t do

  • No undisclosed paid placements, ever.
  • No “reviews” of products we haven’t used, documentation-based pages are labeled as such.
  • No insurance or financial-product brokering: we’re not licensed, and we say so instead of pretending. Educational routing only.
